About the Role An established Further Education provider is seeking an exceptional Lecturer in Childcare to join their team in Romford. This role is perfect for an educator with strong Early Years expertise and a genuine passion for supporting learners to progress academically, personally and professionally.

The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality teaching across Entry Level to Level 3, while creating an inclusive and motivating learning environment that inspires learners to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and continuously improve outstanding lessons and schemes of work across a range of abilities and levels (Entry - Level 3).
  • Create engaging learning materials, digital resources and activities aligned with curriculum and qualification requirements.
  • Develop effective formative and summative assessment strategies, providing timely and constructive feedback. Build a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all learners feel supported and motivated.
  • Offer ongoing coaching, mentoring and pastoral support to help learners develop resilience, confidence and employability skills.
  • Stay informed about developments in the childcare sector, emerging legislation, safeguarding updates and workforce trends to keep the curriculum relevant.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A recognised teaching qualification: PGCE, QTS, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, or currently working toward one.
  • Recent experience teaching Childcare/Early Years from Entry Level to Level 3-ideally within an FE college environment.
  • Up‑to‑date vocational experience within an Early Years setting (Early Years experience is non‑negotiable).
  • A learner‑centred approach with the ability to inspire, motivate and support learners with varying needs.
  • Experience working within a Further Education college or wider educational establishment.
