About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Maths and English Lecturer to join the team at our East Ham Campus on a temporary basis to cover staff sickness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting 16-18-year-old learners to achieve their GCSE goals.

The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons, ensuring students are supported, motivated, and well-prepared for examination success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver GCSE Maths and/or English to 16-18-year-old learners
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality lessons in line with curriculum requirements
  • Use a range of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to support learner progress
  • Provide constructive feedback and set clear targets to help learners achieve their potential
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and attainment
  • Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Essential Requirements

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, QTS)
  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths and/or English
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners aged 16-18
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning
