About the Role

We are seeking passionate and experienced SEN Lecturers to join our Further Education team in South London. The successful candidates will deliver high‑quality teaching and learning to students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including but not limited to ASD, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs.

These roles involve creating engaging, differentiated lessons that support learners' academic, vocational, and personal development, ensuring they can achieve positive outcomes and progress toward independence and employment where appropriate.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to meet diverse SEN learner needs.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess both accredited and non‑accredited learning programmes.
  • Use differentiated strategies and personalised learning approaches to promote learner progress.
  • Support the development of functional skills (Maths, English, ICT) within lessons where required.

Learner Support

  • Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with a wide variety of needs.
  • Work closely with Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and support teams to ensure learners' EHCP outcomes are addressed.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessments, tracking, and reporting.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and emotional well‑being.

Curriculum & Compliance

  • Contribute to curriculum development to ensure high-quality SEN provision aligned with FE standards.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding, quality assurance, and audit requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, standardisation activities, and training sessions.


Requirements

Essential

  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, QTLS).
  • Demonstrable FE teaching experience within a Further Education setting.
  • Substantial experience working with SEN learners in an educational context.
  • Strong understanding of SEND frameworks, EHCP processes, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a learner‑centred approach.
  • Ability to plan and deliver differentiated learning effectively.

Desirable

  • QTLS status with the Society for Education and Training.
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills or Employability curricula.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive learning tools.
  • Experience working with multi‑disciplinary support teams.
