We are seeking an enthusiastic GCSE Maths Lecturer to join a supportive Further Education team in Hitchin. You will deliver engaging GCSE and Functional Skills Maths sessions to learners aged 16-18, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver high‑quality GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths lessons

  • Plan, assess and adapt teaching to meet diverse learner needs

  • Create an inclusive, motivating classroom environment

  • Track progress and provide constructive feedback

What We're Looking For

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths

  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)

  • Experience teaching in FE or delivering GCSE/FS Maths

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

We are looking for a dedicated Foundation Learning Lecturer to support learners working from Pre‑Entry to Level 3. This role suits someone who thrives on helping students overcome barriers, build confidence, and progress into further study, supported internships, apprenticeships or employment. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging lessons across Foundation Learning, Employability, Personal & Social Development, and Vocational Tasters Adapt teaching materials to ensure accessibility for learners with a wide range of abilities and needs Support learners with EHCPs, behavioural needs, or low prior attainment Provide pastoral support, including tutorials, target setting and progress reviews Work collaboratively with LSAs, support teams, parents and external agencies Maintain accurate records, ILPs, attendance and progress tracking Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities and learner progression planning Essential Requirements Experience teaching Foundation Learning, Supported Learning or Entry‑Level programmes Strong understanding of SEND, EHCP processes, and inclusive teaching strategies A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) Ability to differentiate effectively and manage diverse learner needs Excellent communication, patience and resilience Desirable Experience with behaviour management strategies Knowledge of RARPA and non‑accredited learning frameworks Experience supporting learners with ASD, SEMH or complex needs
