An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Lecturer to join a growing Engineering department in Stevenage. This role is ideal for someone with strong industry experience who wants to inspire the next generation of engineers.
Deliver high‑quality teaching across Engineering programmes (Levels 1-3)
Teach both theory and practical sessions in areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or General Engineering
Support apprentices and full‑time learners with coursework, assessments and portfolio development
Maintain workshop safety, equipment checks and compliance with health & safety regulations
Contribute to curriculum development aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies
Provide academic and pastoral support to ensure learner success
Build strong relationships with employers, apprentices and internal teams
Strong engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or related discipline)
Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
Ability to deliver both practical and theory‑based learning
Strong understanding of industry standards, safety protocols and engineering processes
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Teaching or assessing qualifications (AET, PGCE, TAQA, etc.)
Experience delivering BTEC, City & Guilds or apprenticeship standards
Experience in CNC, CAD, PLCs or other specialist areas
