About the Role
The WEA is looking for an enthusiastic and empowering Tutor to deliver a short Volunteer Training Programme in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity to support learners who are eager to build foundational skills for volunteering roles across their communities.
The programme runs for six weeks, with three 2-hour sessions each week, and covers essential knowledge for anyone starting their volunteering journey.
What You'll Teach
You will deliver engaging, accessible sessions covering the core fundamentals of volunteering, including:
- Safeguarding
- Health & Safety
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
- Confidentiality & GDPR
- Communication Skills
- Customer Service
- First Aid Awareness
Your sessions will help learners gain confidence, develop transferable skills, and prepare for potential volunteering or community engagement roles.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience teaching adults in community settings
- Is confident delivering content related to volunteering, safeguarding, EDI and related areas
- Creates a welcoming and supportive learning environment
- Can engage learners with diverse backgrounds and needs
- Is reliable, well-organised, and passionate about adult education
Schedule & Delivery
- Proposed time: Monday-Wednesday, 11:00-13:00
- Flexibility: The venue is also open to afternoon delivery if preferred
- Start: As soon as possible
