Pre-Entry ESOL Tutor
We are seeking a supportive and enthusiastic Pre-Entry ESOL Tutor to deliver adult learning sessions within a friendly, community‑based setting.
Location
Victoria Community & Youth Centre (VCYC)
Charles Street, Whitefield, M45 6FG
Days
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Session Times
There is flexibility around delivery, with sessions taking place either:
  • 09:30 - 12:00 (morning)
    or
  • 12:30 - 15:00 (afternoon)
    (The successful tutor would deliver consistently in either mornings or afternoons.)
About the Role
You will be delivering Pre‑Entry ESOL provision to adult learners who are at the very beginning of their English learning journey. The role focuses on building confidence and practical communication skills in an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
This is a community‑focused role, supporting learners from diverse backgrounds and helping them progress toward further learning and independence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, learner‑centred Pre‑Entry ESOL sessions
  • Support learners with basic speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitor learner progress and complete required registers and documentation
About You
  • Experience teaching ESOL, ideally at Pre‑Entry level
  • A patient, inclusive and encouraging approach to teaching adults
  • Strong understanding of adult learners and community education
  • Relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
