Counselling & Mental Health Assessor (Online)

Location: Doncaster (FE College)
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Hours: 35.5 per week
Contract: Temporary ongoing (no end date)

An FE College in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Counselling & Mental Health Assessor to support learners within their Adult Skills Online provision.

This role is focused on assessing learner work, tracking progress, and supporting achievement across counselling and mental health qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and mark learner assignments across counselling and mental health programmes
  • Track learner progress, attendance, retention, and achievement data
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and guidance to support successful completion
  • Maintain accurate records of learner activity, progress, and assessment outcomes
  • Support quality assurance processes, including IQA and course reviews
  • Contribute to curriculum development and improvement of learning materials
  • Deliver and support blended/online learning, including tutorials where required
  • Engage with recruitment activities such as enrolment and open events

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in counselling, mental health or related subject
  • Experience assessing or delivering within FE, adult skills, or similar education settings
  • Strong understanding of awarding body requirements and quality frameworks
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage learner caseloads
  • Confident using online platforms (e.g. MS Teams, e-learning systems)
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality & diversity, and student success
