Sports Duty Officer
Location: FE College - Rotherham
Salary: £25,456 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37 hours per week)
About the Role
An FE College in Rotherham is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Sports Duty Officer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about sport, fitness, and delivering high-quality services within a busy Further Education environment.
This role is predominantly evening and weekend-based, working on a rota to support the smooth operation of the Sports Centre.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Sports Centre
  • Ensure the smooth transition and coordination of facility bookings and schedules
  • Lead the secure opening and closing of the facilities
Health & Safety
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety across all areas
  • Carry out routine checks, risk assessments, and equipment inspections
  • Ensure a safe environment for students, staff, and community users
Staff Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to the operational team
  • Motivate staff to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Support the delivery of sports activities and events
Customer Service
  • Deliver a welcoming and professional service to all users of the facilities
  • Respond effectively to incidents and provide first aid when required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused
  • Experienced in a sports, leisure, or fitness environment
  • A confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
Essential Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification in a sport or leisure-related subject
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification
  • Full First Aid at Work certificate (or willingness to achieve whilst in post)
