An FE College in Southport is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Lecturer in English on a permanent, part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking department, helping learners develop key English skills across a further education setting.

About the Role

You will deliver high-quality English teaching to a diverse cohort of students, supporting achievement and progression in both academic and vocational pathways. The role involves working closely with colleagues to provide an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Working Pattern

  • 14 hours per week
  • Typically 2 full days, or 1 full day and 2 half days
  • Includes some evening teaching
  • Must be available to start September

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons
  • Support learners to achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement
  • Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements

About You

  • Qualified to teach English (e.g. PGCE / Cert Ed or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching in FE, secondary, or adult learning settings (desirable)
  • Passionate about supporting learners of varying abilities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible and committed to delivering high-quality education
