English/Maths Lecturer

37 hours per week - temporary position available for September (with the potentially to become a permanent contract)

£25-£28 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English and/or Maths Lecturers to join our Further Education team. You will deliver high-quality teaching across GCSE and/or Functional Skills English, supporting students to develop essential literacy skills and confidence.

You will play a key role in helping learners achieve their qualifications and progress into further study, apprenticeships, or employment.

    • Plan and deliver engaging lessons inGCSE and/or Functional Skills English/Maths.
    • Support students to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
    • Prepare learners for exams, resits, and coursework assessments
    • Track and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support
    • Develop inclusive teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs
    • Maintain accurate records in line with awarding body and college requirements
    • Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement
    • Support student attendance, engagement, and achievement

Requirements:

  • Holds a degree in English or a related subject.
  • Has experience teaching English (GCSE and/or Functional Skills preferred).
  • Possesses a recognised teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one).
  • Is passionate about teaching and supporting students.
  • Hold a DBS on the update service (or be willin to apply for a new one ahead of September).
