Motor Vehicle Lecturer
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Alternative Provision School based in Goole.
Full and part time hours considered
Temporary, with the scope to go permanent - September start
£225-252 day rate, approx. £34-£38 per hour.
We are recruiting for a Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join a well-established SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Alternative Provision School. The role will involve delivering engaging and practical Motor Vehicle lessons to KS3 and KS4 students working towards an NCFE qualification.
This setting provides education for young people who require additional support with their social, emotional and behavioural needs. Unlike traditional SEN settings, the focus is primarily on behaviour, engagement and helping students achieve positive outcomes through vocational learning.
The school is open to candidates from both educational and industry backgrounds, recognising the value of real-world motor vehicle experience.
Key Responcibilities:
- Deliver practical and theory-based Motor Vehicle lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Support learners working towards NCFE qualifications.
- Create a safe, engaging and motivating learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students who may have experienced barriers to education.
- Manage behaviour effectively and consistently in line with the school's ethos.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support where required.
The ideal candidate
Experience within the motor vehicle industry and/or teaching Motor Vehicle qualifications.
- Ability to engage and motivate young people with SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for vocational education and supporting students to achieve their potential.
- Teaching qualifications are welcomed but not essential for candidates with strong industry experience.
