Site Technician - College Campus

We are currently recruiting for a Site Technician to join a busy and well-established college in Basingstoke. This is an ongoing temporary position offering a competitive hourly rate of £15.00 - £17.00 per hour, depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, reliable individual with maintenance, facilities, caretaking, or site support experience to work within a rewarding educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across the college campus.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring facilities remain safe and functional.
  • Assist with room layouts, furniture moves, and event set-ups.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Monitor health and safety standards across the premises.
  • Support opening and closing procedures where required.
  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers.
  • Ensure external areas are maintained, clean, and safe.
  • Assist with deliveries and general site duties.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Site Technician, Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative, or similar role.
  • Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check preferred or willingness to obtain one.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
