Sports Centre Assistant - PT hours (12 hours) 16:00 - 22:30pm on a Tuesday and Friday.

Salary: £24,577 - £25,192 per annum (pro-rated)

To act as the welcoming face of the Sports Centre during opening hours, playing a key role in ensuring its smooth, safe, and efficient operation. The post holder will oversee the safe setup use and storage of facilities and equipment, carry out regular building patrols, and lead fitness classes for staff, students, and members of the public.

Primary Task and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the supervision of the Sports Centre.
  • Deliver Fitness classes to staff, students and members of the public.
  • Deliver gym tours and Inductions to students, staff and members of the public.
  • Set up, dismantles and stores equipment.
  • Undertake front of house and administrative duties relating to the Sports Centre.
  • Promote sport to students and staff and local Community.
  • Supervise Fitness Suite.
  • Maintain Health and Safety and cleaning standards.
  • Professional development.

Essential:

  • Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification (essential)
  • Ability to deliver high-energy fitness classes
  • First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
  • Enthusiastic, approachable, and professional attitude
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards of service
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. Desirable Requirements Experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU, Specialist School, or SEMH setting . Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience delivering Functional Skills, GCSE, vocational, or intervention programmes.
