As a Carpentry Technician, you will provide practical and technical support to both staff and students within our construction workshops. You will ensure that workshop environments are safe, well-equipped, and maintained to a high standard, enabling learners to gain valuable hands-on experience. Key responsibilities include: Preparing materials, tools, equipment, and resources for practical lessons. Maintaining carpentry workshops and ensuring equipment is serviced and safe to use. Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions and student assessments. Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials as required. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices. Assisting with workshop demonstrations and supporting learners with practical activities when required. Maintaining accurate records of equipment inspections and maintenance activities. Contributing to a positive learning environment that promotes student achievement and engagement. About You The successful candidate will have: A recognised qualification in Carpentry and Joinery or a related construction discipline. Recent industry experience within carpentry, joinery, construction, or a related trade. Good knowledge of current health and safety practices within workshop environments. Experience using and maintaining a wide range of woodworking tools and machinery. Excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A commitment to supporting learners and promoting outstanding educational experiences. Desirable Experience working within an educational or training environment.
