Are you a qualified electrician looking to move away from site work and into a rewarding training and education role?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Electrician Trainer / Tutor to support the delivery and assessment of electrical installation programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the trade and wants to help develop the next generation of electricians.

No previous teaching experience is essential. Full training and support can be provided, including funded teaching and assessor qualifications for the right candidate.

The Role

As an Electrician Trainer / Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical training and supporting learners throughout their learning journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering technical training across key electrical disciplines
  • Supporting learners through theory and practical sessions
  • Managing learner progress and achievement
  • Conducting assessments and reviewing learner performance
  • Maintaining learner records and associated administration
  • Promoting a safe and positive learning environment
  • Supporting learners with their personal and professional development
  • Building strong relationships with employers and stakeholders
  • Ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and learner outcomes
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and curriculum development

This is a 50/50 role combining both teaching and assessing responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

You will have:

  • Recent and relevant experience within Domestic, Commercial and/or Industrial Electrical Installation
  • Level 2 Diploma Electrical Installation (C&G 2365-02 or equivalent)
  • Level 3 Diploma Electrical Installation (C&G 2365-03 or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (C&G 2357 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (C&G 2382-22)
  • ECS/JIB Gold Card
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical electrical skills
  • Excellent communication and learner support skills
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:

  • Assessor Qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent)
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
  • C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing
  • C&G 2396 Design & Verification
  • Solar PV, EV Charging or other renewable energy qualifications
  • Previous training, mentoring or coaching experience
  • Apprenticeship or work-based learning experience
