Teacher Trainer - English/ Literacy Specialist Bradford Rate: £33.06 per hour Contract Type: Temporary on-going Start Date: 15th September Duration: Until 10th November (excluding half-term) Working Pattern: Tuesdays only, full day Are you an experienced Primary English specialist with recent EYFS and KS1 classroom experience? We are seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Teacher Trainer - Primary Literacy Specialist to deliver a well-established professional development programme for early years and primary practitioners. This opportunity would suit a current or recently practising teacher, English Lead, Literacy Specialist, or Early Reading Practitioner with a strong understanding of early language development, phonics, reading, writing and literacy teaching across EYFS and Key Stage 1 . The programme runs every Tuesday from 15th September to 10th November (excluding half-term), with the same training session delivered twice during the day to two groups of approximately 25 delegates. Whilst this is initially a short-term sessional opportunity, there may be additional paid marking and assessment activity following programme completion. There is also potential for the role to develop into a longer-term or permanent opportunity, as has been the case with previous associates. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, high-quality literacy training to practising education professionals. Facilitate the same training programme to two groups of approximately 25 participants each day. Share current best practice in the teaching of English, literacy and communication skills within EYFS and KS1. Promote evidence-informed approaches to early reading, phonics, writing and language development. Support participants to reflect on and develop their classroom practice. Complete any associated administration and, where required, marking and assessment activities. Essential Requirements Recent classroom teaching experience in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 . Strong knowledge of primary English and literacy teaching. Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to engage and inspire adult learners and education professionals. Desirable Experience as an English Lead, Literacy Lead or Reading Lead. Previous experience delivering CPD, teacher training or professional development. Relevant teaching or training qualifications. Knowledge of current literacy and phonics frameworks.
