Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week (timetables currently being finalised).
Rate: £14.24 per hour

The Protocol Groupo is currently recruiting for two Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive and inclusive team in West Yorkshire. These roles will provide dedicated support to post-16 learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, helping them to access education, develop independence and achieve their full potential. We have the following opportunities available:

• Learning Support Assistant within the Health & Social Care department (female preferred due to learner support requirements).
• Learning Support Assistant within the Construction department (male preferred due to learner support requirements).

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact within Further Education. The positions are offered on a temporary ongoing basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidates.

• Providing one-to-one and small group support to learners with additional learning needs.
• Supporting students within classroom, workshop and practical learning environments.
• Assisting learners to access the curriculum and engage with learning activities.
• Promoting independence, confidence and positive learner outcomes.
• Working closely with teaching staff to implement individual learning support strategies.
• Contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Supporting learners with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities in line with SEND best practice.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with students or adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• An understanding of the 2014 SEND Reforms (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (certificates must be available for compliance purposes).
• A patient, empathetic and supportive approach to working with learners.
• Hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to undertake the necessary compliance checks.
