IT Service Desk Technician Stevenage Hourly Rate: £14-£16 Job Type: Full-Time Temporary About the Role We are looking for a customer-focused and proactive IT Service Desk Technician to join our IT Support team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about technology and delivering exceptional customer service. As a key member of the team, you will provide first-line IT support via telephone, email, remote assistance, and occasional on-site visits. You will be responsible for resolving incidents and service requests efficiently while ensuring a positive experience for all users across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Provide first-class IT support via telephone, email, remote access, and desk-side assistance. Log, manage, and update incidents and service requests using the Service Desk ticketing system. Gather accurate information and diagnostics to support efficient issue resolution. Monitor and prioritise support tickets to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are achieved. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and application issues. Work collaboratively with IT and non-IT teams to deliver excellent customer service. Communicate clearly with users, managing expectations throughout the support process. Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and support services. Assist with daily operational tasks and general administration as required. Support operating system deployments, application packaging, and software rollouts. What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: Experience working within an IT Service Desk or IT Support environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience using IT Service Desk or ticket management software. Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding customer service and communication skills. Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple support requests effectively. Knowledge of the ITIL framework and best practices. Desirable Skills & Experience: Microsoft SCCM experience. Knowledge of operating system deployment and rollout projects. Experience with application packaging and deployment. Familiarity with Mac OS.
