HE Social Work Lecturer
Location: Bradford, South Yorkshire
Organisation: FE College
Contract: Temporary on going cover.
Hours: 15 hours per week
Rate: £30-£35 per hour including SHP.

Job Purpose: Deliver higher education teaching, assessment, and student support within social work programmes, preparing learners for professional practice through the delivery of current theory, legislation, safeguarding, ethics, and practice-based learning. The role involves contributing to curriculum development, supporting placements, and ensuring students meet professional and academic standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops across social work programmes.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Support and monitor students throughout their academic and practice placement journey.
• Develop and update curriculum materials to reflect current legislation and professional standards.
• Contribute to course design, validation, and quality assurance activities.
• Liaise with placement providers, local authorities, and external partners.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
• Provide academic tutoring and pastoral support to students.

Requirements:

• A Degree in Social Work or a related subject.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Recent or substantial experience within social work practice.
• Knowledge of current social work legislation, safeguarding, and professional standards.
• Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or supporting learners in higher or further education.
