An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Animal Care Lecturers to join a range of well-established Further Education Colleges across the Cheshire and Greater Manchester area. We are seeking passionate professionals who can inspire the next generation of learners pursuing careers within animal care, animal management, welfare, and related land-based industries.
The Role
You will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of Animal Care programmes, supporting learners to develop the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and industry awareness required for successful careers within the sector. The role will involve planning and delivering lessons, assessing learner progress, and providing pastoral support to help students achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver Animal Care and Animal Management courses across Further Education programmes.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and innovative lessons.
  • Assess student work and monitor learner progress against learning outcomes.
  • Support students with both their academic and personal development.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with employers, industry partners, and relevant organisations.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Animal Care, Animal Management, Zoology, Veterinary Nursing, Animal Science, or a related subject.
  • Industry experience within animal care, animal welfare, animal management, veterinary settings, or a related field.
  • Previous teaching, training, or assessing experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and developing learners.

Experience delivering training, teaching or coaching is desirable. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to engage and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
