Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Supervisor

We are currently working in partnership with a leading Further Education College in East London to recruit experienced and dedicated lecturers for their Learning Resource Centre role.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for education, excellent organisational skills, and the confidence to lead and inspire others.

The Role

The successful candidates will play a key role in the smooth running and continuous development of our LRC services across the College

As LRC Supervisor at our East Ham and Stratford campuses, you will lead a team of LRC Assistants and ensure the delivery of a welcoming, inclusive, and well-resourced environment. You will oversee day to day operations, coordinate staff rotas, and contribute to events, workshops, and initiatives that promote literacy, digital skills, and student success

Person Specification

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Oversee the daily operation of LRC spaces, ensuring high quality services, well maintained resources, and a positive learning environment. A relevant degree or subject-specialist qualification. Create and manage staff rotas, ensuring appropriate cover and alignment with team working patterns.
  • Delegate tasks to LRC Assistants and monitor service standards, outcomes, and expectations.
  • Provide effective supervision, support, and development opportunities for LRC Assistants, including one to one meetings and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate and contribute to a programme of LRC events, campaigns, and literacy focused initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of LRC Inductions and Academic Skills workshops, contributing to planning, facilitation, and evaluation. Provide regular front‑facing support at the LRC counters, offering excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification (including GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a library, LRC, or education support setting.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience, including performance monitoring.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Confident IT skills and the ability to support others in using digital and online learning tools.
  • Confident in delivering workshops/training to large groups or individuals
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and campuses.
  • A commitment to providing an inclusive, student-centred service.
