Due to continued growth, we are seeking an HV Electrical Trainer / Safe Systems of Work Trainer to deliver specialist training programmes to electrical professionals working within high voltage environments.

No previous teaching experience is required. Full training and support will be provided, including ongoing professional development and teaching qualifications where appropriate.


The Role

As an HV Electrical Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment across a range of High Voltage and Safe Systems of Work programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging classroom and practical training sessions.
  • Providing instruction and demonstrations on High Voltage switching operations and safe systems of work.
  • Assessing learner competence and providing constructive feedback.
  • Supporting delegates through their learning journey to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ensuring training is delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Monitoring learner progress and maintaining training records.
  • Supporting the development of future Authorised Persons and electrical professionals.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with learners, employers and colleagues.
  • Promoting a positive learning environment and excellent learner experience.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and industry standards.

What We're Looking For

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of High Voltage electrical systems and operations.
  • Experience working with HV switchgear and Safe Systems of Work documentation.
  • Experience as an HV Authorised Person (minimum 3 years preferred).
  • Experience issuing permits to work and switching schedules.
  • Background within industrial electrical engineering, utilities, defence, healthcare or similar environments.
  • Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
  • Level 2 Maths and English.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A genuine passion for sharing knowledge and developing others.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:

  • Current or previous Authorised Person (AP) status.
  • TAQA, A1 or equivalent Assessor Qualification.
  • AET, PTLLS or other Teaching Qualification.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, mentoring or apprenticeships.
  • DNO, IDNO or utility sector experience.
  • Experience working within healthcare or defence estates.
