About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Health & Social Care Lecturer to join a Further Education provider in Birmingham on a temporary ongoing basis, subject to termly reviews.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive Health & Social Care lessons to learners studying Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, supporting students to achieve their academic and career goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lecturer or industry professional with teaching experience looking for a part-time position within a supportive FE environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Health & Social Care lessons to Level 1-3 learners.
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning activities in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement and assessments.
  • Contribute to learner retention, achievement and progression.
  • Attend team meetings and participate in quality assurance activities as required.

  • 13:00 - 15:00

Wednesday

  • 09:30 - 10:30
  • 10:45 - 12:15
  • Suggested Admin Time: 13:00 - 16:00

Thursday

  • 09:00 - 10:30
  • 10:45 - 12:15

Friday

  • 10:45 - 12:00
  • 13:00 - 14:30
  • 15:15 - 17:00

Additional 3 hours per week administration are included and paid at the administrative rate.

Requirements

  • A relevant Health & Social Care qualification.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering Health & Social Care within Further Education.
  • Knowledge of Level 1-3 Health & Social Care qualifications.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
