The Role

As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, you will deliver high-quality teaching and assessment up to Level 3 across a range of programmes, including:

  • Study Programmes
  • Adult Learning Programmes
  • Apprenticeships

You will teach both practical and theoretical aspects of Mechanical Engineering, including:

  • Machining (Lathe and Milling Machines)
  • Mechanical Engineering Operations
  • Maintenance Engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Fitting and Assembly Techniques
  • Manual Turning and Milling
  • Mechanical Device Maintenance

Working across workshop and classroom environments, you will motivate and support learners to achieve their full potential while developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required by industry.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who can bring engineering to life through engaging practical, theoretical and digital delivery methods.

You will ideally have:

  • A Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • A teaching qualification and assessor award, or willingness to work towards these
  • Strong industry experience within Mechanical Engineering and/or Machining
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to inspire and motivate learners of varying abilities
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to learner success
  • Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
