SEND Co-ordinator (Interim)

Full Time | Immediate Start | Ongoing until Christmas (initially)
£27.00 per hour (higher rates up to £30.00 per hour considered for exceptional candidates)

We are currently seeking an experienced SEND Co-ordinator to join a Further Education setting on a full-time interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled SEND professional with a strong track record of managing large and complex SEND provisions.

The successful candidate will play a key operational leadership role from the outset, ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of SEND support across the provision. Over time, the role will also develop to include strategic planning and improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a large SEND provision within an FE environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day SEND operations, ensuring high-quality support for learners.
  • Line manage and support SEND staff where required.
  • Monitor provision, processes, and learner outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to ensure inclusive practice.
  • Contribute to SEND strategy, planning, and service development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant SEND policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience managing a large SEND provision within a Further Education or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, processes, and best practice.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Ability to effectively manage staff, resources, and operational priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident balancing operational delivery with longer-term strategic planning.

Contract Details

  • Full-time hours.
  • Immediate start.
  • Initial assignment until Christmas, with potential for extension.
  • Competitive rate of £27.00 per hour, with flexibility up to £30.00 per hour for highly experienced candidates.
