Learning Support Assistants - Full Time

Location: On-site - Birmingham
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £20.17 per hour

We are currently recruiting two full-time Academic Support Workers to start as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to support learners within a Further Education environment, helping students achieve their academic potential through in-class support, note-taking, and learner-focused assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support to students with additional learning needs and disabilities.
  • Deliver in-class support across a variety of learning environments.
  • Provide professional note-taking and scribing support during lessons.
  • Support students in achieving learning outcomes and EHCP targets.
  • Work closely with curriculum teams and teaching staff.
  • Assist with learner support planning and progress monitoring.
  • Accompany learners on educational visits where academic support is required.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified to Level 3 or above (A-Level, BTEC Diploma, Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent).
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Previous experience supporting students in an academic setting, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and note-taking abilities.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
