We are partnering with an ambitious, internationally focused higher education provider to appoint an Assistant or Associate Professor in FinTech Management.

The Role
You will deliver high-quality teaching across business, finance and FinTech programmes, designing lectures, seminars, workshops, assessments and supporting materials. You will help students understand how technology is reshaping financial services, investment, international finance, risk and business decision-making.
You will join a multidisciplinary academic team and collaborate with colleagues across finance, management, economics and data analytics. Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates whose expertise connects FinTech with financial management, international finance, investments, data analytics, digital banking, artificial intelligence, blockchain, financial regulation, sustainable finance or entrepreneurship.
Key responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Develop and review modules, learning materials and assessments.

Person specification
For appointment at Assistant Professor level, applicants should normally hold, or be close to completing, a relevant PhD, or demonstrate equivalent professional expertise. Candidates should have strong subject knowledge, the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and a firm commitment to student success.
For appointment at Associate Professor level, candidates should also demonstrate an established record of teaching excellence, academic leadership, curriculum development, research, scholarship, professional practice or knowledge exchange.
Essential requirements include:
  • Specialist knowledge in FinTech, finance, investments, international finance, data analytics or a closely related field.
  • Experience of teaching, training or presenting complex subject matter.
  • The ability to design and deliver effective learning activities.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting students from varied backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of current developments affecting FinTech and financial services.
  • Experience of UK higher education, teaching international students, supervising dissertations, blended learning, programme validation or academic quality assurance would be advantageous. A recognised teaching qualification or Fellowship of Advance HE would also be welcomed.
